Healthy Building Science started as an industrial hygiene (or environmental testing) company. In that line of work we saw much damage due to deferred maintenance, poor waterproofing details, and generally bad design and construction detailing. We became experts in forensic investigations and now we bring a unique perspective to residential construction.

We consider long-term durability, environmental impacts, and maintenance requirements for every project. Our service are for general contracting is smaller than our industrial hygiene. We focus on residential structures (and light commercial) and primarily work in Marin and Sonoma Counties in the North Bay. We often bend the rules and travel further for inspection clients or repeat clients, but in general our construction services are focused in the following cities: Mill Valley, Sausalito, Marin City, Corte Madera, Fairfax, San Anselmo, San Rafael, Tiburon, Belvedere, Novato, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Cotati and Sebastapol.
